Back in 2012, when you were hired as a campus recruit for PageGroup, what drove you to choose recruitment as a career?

At the time, I was certain that I wanted to be a sales professional, but the recruitment industry wasn’t an obvious choice. It wasn’t until November 2011 when Michael Page first appeared on campuses in India. The pitch was very compelling and I could relate to how recruitment could be a very impactful service. From there, I took a leap of faith, and here I am eight years later!

Now that you have been with PageGroup for over eight years, how would you define your journey thus far?

It has been a true rollercoaster ride. The first year was the most challenging for me, but I am glad to have surrounded myself with mentors who kept me focused and engaged. At Page, we embrace mistakes and learn on the job, and we make sure to do better next time. I think the focus on developing people really kept me going over the years.
In 2012, I launched the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice within the Sales & Marketing function, and I also went on to open doors for several other industries. In 2017, after working in Sales & Marketing for a few years, I wanted a new challenge. So PageGroup gave me an opportunity to launch the Engineering function at our Gurgaon office. In 2019, I was also given the opportunity to be part of the launch team in Bengaluru. In short, there’s no shortage of new adventures, and that’s very exciting for me.

You have also recently moved to Bengaluru to be a part of PageGroup’s growth journey in a new city. How’s the experience thus far?

I took this role with the goal of making an impact on both PageGroup India as well as my personal growth. It has been an exhilarating experience to be a part of the launch team of a city with immense potential for our business. The current role has given me an opportunity to partner with some very exciting organizations. Hiring a team and mentoring them to reach their potential has always been a part of the Page journey, but doing this in a new office is certainly different from what I have experienced. On the personal front, Bengaluru is an amazing city and the weather makes the hustle easier!

What do you look for in a Recruitment Consultant at PageGroup?

In addition to the core values of PageGroup, I look for individuals who have a strong desire to succeed and have displayed that in their professional/personal lives. I also look for individuals who take accountability for their success and failures.

Sum up your experience at PageGroup in three sentences.

It’s engaging: I love the fact that my days don’t repeat here. There is always something to look forward to and that keeps me driven; it’s challenging: It’s a high-powered team that is constantly challenging you to do better and take on more responsibilities; it’s rewarding: the Group has an excellent reward structure that provides ample career growth, cross-cultural learning, peer interactions, as well as lasting industry relationships!
