Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Growth, deliver zone-level sales targets across volume, value, and market share
  • Develop and execute annual and quarterly sales plans for General Trade
  • Drive numeric and weighted distribution, market penetration, and offtake growth
  • Manage primary, secondary, and tertiary sales performance
  • Channel & Distributor ManagementAppoint, develop, and govern distributors as per company norms
  • Monitor distributor health, ROI, credit norms, and infrastructure capability
  • Drive effective beat planning, route optimization, and coverage models
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead, coach, and develop Area Sales Managers and frontline teams
  • Set clear performance expectations and review KPIs regularly
  • Build a high-performance, result-oriented sales culture across the zone
  • Trade Marketing & Execution, ensure flawless execution of trade schemes, visibility programs, and launches
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Marketing teams on GT initiatives
  • Monitor in-market compliance and program effectiveness
  • Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Management, track competition, pricing, promotions, and market dynamics
  • Build strong relationships with key distributors, trade partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management

Key Deliverables:

  • Achievement of zonal sales, distribution, and profitability targets
  • Strong distributor network with high execution capability
  • High-quality sales team with low attrition and strong leadership bench
  • Timely and effective execution of GT programs and product launches

The Successful Applicant

  • Pool 1 - MBA from a Tier-1/Tier-2 B-School batch of 2013 , 2014, 2015, 2016 or 2017
  • Pool 2 - Strong sales background from a Tier 1 FMCG
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire high-performing sales teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into action
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Resilient, results-driven, and comfortable operating in dynamic market environments
