The role involves leading the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex commercial contracts while supporting strategic initiatives such as M&A transactions, joint ventures, data privacy programs, and technology-related agreements. Along with this, managing a legal team, advising business stakeholders on contractual risks, and driving contract management and process-improvement initiatives across the organization.

Job Description

* Assist in drafting, review, and negotiate mid-to-high value and legally complex commercial contracts, including software licensing and AI development agreements, real estate leases and purchase arrangements, related party transactions, and clinical trial agreements.

* Assist the legal review and finalisation of employment and labour law matters, POSH-related matters, and CSR-related contracts and policies referred by the business or by the superiors.

* Assist in drafting and vetting of transaction documents for Acquisitions, Mergers, Joint Ventures, and Collaborations undertaken by the Group, escalating strategic or high-risk issues to the superiors.

* Participate in the development and roll-out of the Group's DPDP Act-compliant data protection and privacy policy framework, coordinating with IT, Compliance, and business functions on implementation.

* Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to internal stakeholders on contract-related queries and resolve matters escalated by the team.

* Review, guide, and approve contracts drafted and negotiated by the team; provide feedback and on-the-job training to improve drafting quality and turnaround time.

* Allocate and supervise the team's day-to-day workload, monitor contract turnaround times, and ensure adherence to internal contracting SLAs and templates.

* Liaise with Finance, Compliance, HR, and business units to assess and mitigate contractual and commercial legal risk.

* Manage the Group's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) implementation workstreams as assigned, including process design and user adoption within the legal team.

* Undertake special projects, transactions, and policy initiatives delegated by the superiors.

The Successful Applicant

  • LLB/LLM
  • Experience working with contracts and agreements in healthcare sector.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
