Job Description

  • Lead the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Act as a key Finance stakeholder in Group transformation initiatives.
  • Review of monthly MIS & presentation to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage audits effectively.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements to enhance financial performance and reporting accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, international accounting practices (IFRS) standards, Indian Accounting Standards and local tax regulations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Accounting should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role of large organization (MNC).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working within the energy, industrial and manufacturing sector.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
