This role will partner closely with the Country Head, Board and global stakeholders to drive strategic execution while ensuring a robust control environment, regulatory compliance and organisational resilience.

Job Description

The General Manager Operations will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for ensuring the India GCC operates efficiently, compliantly and in alignment with global strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous enhancement of the GCC operating model.
  • Drive operational excellence, scalability, governance effectiveness and organisational efficiency.
  • Oversee legal entity governance, Board processes and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership across financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, audit, tax and financial controls.
  • Establish robust risk management, operational resilience, business continuity and compliance frameworks.
  • Lead and develop India-based Corporate Functions, ensuring strong alignment with business priorities and global standards.
  • Support large-scale transformation programmes, organisational change initiatives and strategic execution.
  • Build strong partnerships with executive stakeholders, Group functions, regulators, advisors and Board members.
  • Foster a high-performance culture centred on accountability, collaboration, inclusion and leadership development.
  • Ensure effective governance reporting and provide strategic insight to leadership and Board stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

Experience

  • 15-25 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Significant experience within multinational corporations, GCC/GBS environments, financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Previous experience in roles such as General Manager, COO, Site Head, India Head, Operations Director, GBS Leader or equivalent.



Functional Expertise

  • Operating model design and organisational effectiveness.
  • Enterprise governance and legal entity management.
  • Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and control frameworks.
  • Risk management, compliance, audit and operational resilience.
  • Large-scale transformation, change management and strategic programme delivery.
  • Corporate services and shared services leadership.



Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of India regulatory, governance and legal entity requirements.
  • Experience working within complex matrix organisations and global stakeholder environments.



Leadership Skills

  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership teams and Boards.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Experience building high-performing leadership teams and succession pipelines.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.



Tools & Systems Exposure

  • Experience with enterprise financial and governance platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, ERP systems, risk and compliance management tools, reporting platforms and governance frameworks.



Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA, CA, CFA, CPA or other relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications highly preferred.
