Job Description

1. Financial Accounting & Management Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements, management accounts, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the general ledger, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and accruals.
  • Ensure integrity of financial data within SAP ERP systems and supporting ledgers.



M2. Manufacturing & Reuse/Repack Operations Costing

  • Oversee activity-based product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis for manufacturing and reuse operations.
  • Monitor and analyze material, labour, overhead, reprocessing, waste recovery, and yield costs.
  • Partner with Operations to drive:
    • Cost reduction initiatives
    • Process efficiency
    • Improved recovery and reuse economics
  • Support pricing decisions and margin analysis for Manufactured or reused products.



a3. Free Trade Zone & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS/IFRS as applicable)
    • Bangladesh taxation laws
    • Free Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations, including customs, duty exemptions, bonded inventory, and reporting obligations.
  • Manage relationships with FTZ authorities, customs officials, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of statutory returns, FTZ reports, and regulatory filings and support with any Audits.



n4. Taxation & Treasury

  • Manage corporate tax, VAT, customs duty, transfer pricing tax and withholding tax compliance.
  • Coordinate tax planning within legal and regulatory frameworks, especially under FTZ incentives.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and banking relationships.
  • Ensure effective controls over payments, FX exposure, and funding needs.

a5. Internal Controls & Governance

  • Establish and maintain a strong internal control framework aligned with group and audit requirements.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and delegation of authority.
  • Prepare for and coordinate:
    • External audits
    • Internal audits
    • Regulatory inspections
  • Ensure accountability and segregation of duties within the finance function.
  • Ensure Compliance with transfer pricing norms and regulations



g6. Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Act as a key finance partner to the Plant Manager, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Provide financial insights to support:
    • Capital expenditure decisions
    • Capacity expansion
    • Process automation
    • Sustainability programs and circular economy initiatives
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning.



e7. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and develop the local finance and accounting team.
  • Build finance capability in costing, compliance, controls, and analytical reporting.
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, discipline, integrity, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

Mandatory

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA / ACCA / CIMA / CMA or local equivalent).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing finance, including costing and inventory management.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of Bangladesh financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.



Highly Desirable

  • Prior experience in a Free Trade Zone (FTZ), EPZ, or bonded facility.
  • Exposure to reuse, recycling, or circular economy operations.
  • Experience working with multinational or regionally governed organizations.
