Job Description

Lead the strategy and execution of enterprise data platform operations across global teams, ensuring alignment with organisational architecture and analytics goals

Define and drive platform roadmap, including modernisation initiatives, service offerings, and reusable data patterns

Establish operational excellence frameworks including SLAs, SLOs, incident management, and governance practices

Ensure platform reliability, resiliency, and readiness through disaster recovery, failover testing, and risk management frameworks

Oversee governance-by-design principles, including data classification, access control, lineage, and compliance requirements

Drive engineering excellence through standardisation of architectures, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and platform productivity enhancements

Partner with senior stakeholders and leadership teams to manage expectations, escalations, and delivery commitments

Build and lead high-performing engineering teams, defining operating models, performance metrics, and talent strategies

Enable enterprise-scale data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and business decision-making

The Successful Applicant

10+ years of experience in data platform engineering and operations, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing large teams

Strong expertise in enterprise data platforms, including cloud-based architectures and modern data ecosystems

Hands-on experience with tools such as Snowflake and Informatica IDMC, along with knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration

Proven track record of running large-scale platforms with strong governance, reliability, and operational rigour

Experience implementing DataOps, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices at scale

Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, including security, access controls, and compliance standards

Demonstrated ability to drive platform modernisation initiatives such as lakehouse or warehouse transformations

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate and influence at executive levels

Experience working within Agile environments and ITSM frameworks such as incident, problem, and change management

Strong leadership capabilities, including talent development, team building, and performance management
