Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO and Board, the CTO will be responsible for defining and executing the company's long-term technology strategy while building a scalable, secure, and high-performing engineering organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define the technology roadmap aligned with business and product priorities
  • Build and scale engineering, platform, data, and infrastructure teams
  • Lead architecture decisions across payments, lending, AI, and data systems
  • Drive platform scalability, reliability, cybersecurity, and compliance
  • Establish strong engineering culture, delivery frameworks, and hiring standards
  • Partner with product, operations, risk, and business leaders on strategic initiatives
  • Evaluate and implement AI/ML capabilities across customer experience and operations
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, DevOps maturity, and system performance at scale
  • Represent technology strategy in leadership and investor discussions
  • Drive innovation while balancing execution speed and operational excellence

The Successful Applicant

  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience within fintech, SaaS, or high-growth technology environments
  • Prior experience building and scaling engineering organisations from early-stage to growth-stage
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, APIs, data platforms, and security frameworks
  • Experience across fintech domains such as payments, lending, banking infrastructure, or risk systems is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments
  • Exposure to AI/ML-led product ecosystems and modern data infrastructure
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working closely with founders, boards, and investors
  • Commercially minded leader with the ability to align technology outcomes to business growth
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for execution and ownership
