Job Description

This is a Senior Leadership role responsible for getting approvals, managing government relationships, tracking regulatory changes, and ensuring client's projects in Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad move smoothly without delays.

  • Lead and expedite regulatory approvals, permits, and statutory clearances for development projects across South India.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and utility providers.
  • Monitor infrastructure developments, urban planning policies, zoning regulations, and growth corridors to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage a centralized regulatory intelligence and knowledge repository, including approvals, contacts, policy updates, and best practices.
  • Establish and oversee a digital permit-tracking system with dashboards, governance metrics, and real-time reporting.
  • Set up and lead a specialized permitting function for data centers and other digital infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with power utilities, telecom providers, environmental authorities, and other stakeholders for infrastructure-related approvals.
  • Lead and mentor regional teams across Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
  • Standardize approval processes, governance frameworks, and operational playbooks across the region.
  • Identify risks, resolve approval bottlenecks, and ensure timely project execution while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Provide strategic insights on city development trends and emerging investment opportunities across key South Indian markets.

The Successful Applicant

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in regulatory approvals, urban planning, infrastructure policy, or real estate development.
  • Proven ability to secure complex, multi-agency approvals across major metropolitan markets.
  • Experience working with digital permitting platforms, workflow management tools, and analytics dashboards.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing regional teams and cross-functional stakeholder groups.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Law, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in Urban/Infrastructure Planning, Construction Management, Business Administration (MBA), or Public Administration.
  • Certifications in GIS, Data Analytics, Project Management, or related disciplines are advantageous.
