This role is responsible for leading the complete supply chain function across India, including operations, planning, and distribution across a wide network of ports, plants, and stock points. It involves driving efficiency, vendor performance, and strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with business priorities.

The client is a large, globally aligned organisation operating in the industrial/agri-input sector with a strong footprint in India. It manages complex supply chain operations across multiple locations and is focused on operational excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and scalable growth.

Job Description

  • Lead and drive end-to-end supply chain strategy including operations planning and execution for new and existing products.
  • Oversee daily operations, dispatches, and evacuation planning while updating leadership on performance metrics.
  • Manage vendor ecosystem including logistics providers, ports, plants, and packaging suppliers with strong KPI governance.
  • Coordinate with government bodies (e.g., regulatory authorities, railways) for seamless product movement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, marketing, and treasury teams.
  • Lead and mentor a supply chain team, ensuring performance management and capability building.
  • Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Execute strategic projects to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and supply chain effectiveness.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: 10-14 years total experience in supply chain, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing complex operations.
  • Education: Master's degree in Business Management or related field; supply chain certifications preferred.
  • Functional Expertise: Strong experience in operations, vendor management, planning, and stakeholder management.
  • Skills: Strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage multi-dimensional supply chains.
  • Tools/Software: Proficiency in MS Office; SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Other Requirements: High energy, adaptability, customer-facing experience preferred, and ability to handle multi-location operation
