The incumbent will lead end‑to‑end commercial operations, including procurement, supply chain, logistics, and full P&L ownership across multiple manufacturing locations. The role focuses on driving cost leadership, supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and sustainable profitability in a highly regulated chemical manufacturing environment

The client is a well‑established Indian chemical manufacturing organisation with multi‑plant operations and a strong presence in specialty and hazardous chemicals. The company is known for its focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, safety standards, and long‑term sustainable growth.

Job Description

  • Own and drive end‑to‑end P&L for commercial operations, ensuring margin improvement and cost optimisation
  • Lead strategic procurement of raw materials, intermediates, solvents, utilities, packaging, and services
  • Oversee complete supply chain and logistics operations, including demand planning, inventory, warehousing, and distribution
  • Manage logistics for hazardous and specialty chemicals with strict adherence to safety and regulatory norms
  • Coordinate commercial activities across multiple manufacturing plants to ensure standardisation and efficiency
  • Support capacity expansion, new product launches, and greenfield/brownfield projects from a commercial perspective
  • Strengthen governance, risk management, audits, and ethical procurement practices
  • Build and lead high‑performing procurement and supply chain teams while collaborating with Finance, HSE, Legal, and Manufacturing



The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: 18+ years in commercial leadership roles within chemical or manufacturing industries, with strong exposure to multi‑plant operations
  • Leadership: Proven experience managing large teams, senior stakeholders, and complex supplier ecosystems
  • Technical exposure: Deep understanding of chemical manufacturing, hazardous material handling, regulatory compliance, and ESG requirements
  • Functional expertise: Strong background in P&L management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supply chain optimisation, and logistics
  • Education: Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) with an MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance preferred
  • Skills: Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution ability, high integrity, strong negotiation skills, and excellent stakeholder management.
