What you will do

  • Work with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager and customer to understand what each feature needs to achieve, what data goes in and what must come out. Agree acceptance criteria with Product Management and QA before you start building.
  • Plan and deliver work in an Agile Scrum process across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Design solutions and architecture that scale to enterprise and global customer requirements.
  • Write code that is modular, reusable, easy to read and maintainable, following agreed coding standards and design patterns.
  • Write unit tests, work with QA on test-driven development, and monitor quality throughout implementation.
  • Debug and tune performance, and report problems clearly in writing or with charts.
  • Learn the product business logic to subject-matter-expert level and take part in technical discussions with global customers.
  • Keep your technical knowledge current through workshops, reading and user groups.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for someone who has:

5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer building SaaS products.

* Strong command of Node.js (Express or similar) and React for the user interface.

* Working experience with AWS, for example EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS or DynamoDB, and API Gateway.

* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including distributed deployments.

* Object-oriented design skills, knowledge of design patterns, and experience with microservice architecture.

* Solid grounding in algorithms, performance tuning, debugging and software testing.

* Knowledge of web standards: JavaScript, CSS, JSON and REST API design.

* Experience with SaaS concerns such as security (OWASP Top 10), transaction and session management, caching and input validation.

* Proficiency with Git (GitHub or Bitbucket) and familiarity with continuous integration.

* Experience working in a global team with clear written and spoken communication.
