Job Description

Lead, mentor, and develop the India-based Powertrain/Driveline/Transmission Engineering team.

Serve as the technical expert for transmissions, axles, and related systems.

Drive product development activities for new and existing Auto/CV/Agri platforms.

Ensure seamless integration of driveline systems with engine, hydraulics, electronics, and vehicle architecture.

Support design reviews, validation activities, root cause analysis, and problem-solving initiatives.

Leverage knowledge of the Indian automotive market to guide product decisions.

Collaborate closely with Product Development, Platform Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams.

Partner with global engineering teams to align standards, technology road-maps, and product strategies.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, preferably from a Tier-1 Institute

Typically 15+ years of experience in drive-line engineering, power-train systems, transmissions, axles, or related areas.

Proven experience leading engineering teams and complex product development programmes.

Experience working within global or matrix engineering organisations.

Deep expertise in driveline systems, transmission technologies, axles, and vehicle integration.

Experience in design, validation, reliability, engineering problem-solving, and product development methodologies.

Familiarity with CAD, PLM, and engineering development tools.

Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to influence technical decisions across cross-functional and global teams.

Collaborative, customer-focused, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
