Job Description

Designation: Manager - Merchandising (DTC)

Reports to: Head of Buying & Merchandising

Location: Corporate HQ, GurgaonKey ResponsibilitiesAssortment Planning & Strategy

  • Develop seasonal and annual merchandising strategies aligned with global brand positioning
  • Localize global ranges based on regional preferences and demand patterns
  • Drive product segmentation, pricing architecture, and range planning



Demand Planning & Inventory Management

  • Own demand forecasting and pre-season buy planning
  • Monitor sell-through, stock cover, and inventory health (NOS vs. seasonal)
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize markdowns and maximize full-price sell through
  • Collaborate with global and local supply chain teams on replenishment and allocation planning



Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Track weekly/monthly KPIs: sales, sell-through, ROS, and inventory turns
  • Analyze category performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Provide actionable insights to improve product mix, pricing, and availability
  • Lead WBR (Weekly Business Review) and seasonal performance reviews
  • Identify assortment gaps and recommend new product opportunities
  • Drive channel-wise assortment (e-commerce vs retail) and optimize on-site merchandising (ranking, availability, depth)
  • Leverage consumer data and behavior insights to refine assortment decisions



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with global merchandising, India DTC sales, and marketing teams
  • Plan and execute product launches and campaigns across DTC channels in line with business targets
  • Support retail and e-commerce teams with product insights, availability, and sell through actions
  • Collaborate with the finance team on target setting, planning, and performance tracking



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in merchandising/buying (preferably in fashion or retail)
  • Experience working with global brands or multi-market environments preferred
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel, BI tools, data interpretation)
  • Strong commercial acumen and decision-making ability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Familiarity with merchandising/planning tools
