Job Description

  • Drive sourcing strategies and build a strong vendor ecosystem to support merchandising objectives.
  • Develop and execute product development plans in collaboration with factories and suppliers.
  • Identify new suppliers and manage vendor onboarding, performance, and long-term partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, and order quantities to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends, material innovations, and supply risks, providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including buying, quality, and compliance to ensure product delivery.
  • Track KPIs related to development, manufacturing, and vendor performance.
  • Lead team members, delegate responsibilities, and oversee vendor relationships and production processes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: 15-20 years in merchandising/sourcing, preferably across multiple product categories.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in textiles or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, and sourcing strategies.
  • Tools/Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email communication.
  • Industry Exposure: Experience working with factories, suppliers, and high SKU/multi-category environments.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Core Traits: Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, strong negotiation skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Additional Edge: Experience in textile/home/apparel categories and supply chain optimisation.
