The Manager - Agri will manage and develop agricultural commodity trading strategies within the financial services sector. This role is based in Mumbai and focuses on brokerage activities within the banking and financial services department.

Job Description

  • Product identification, evaluation and study the suitability of the product as a contract on the futures platform.
  • Work with regional offices on designing and implementing the contract.
  • Develop and deliver insightful presentations.
  • Track competitors and develop respond strategies.
  • Helping the BD team in developing marketing strategy based on knowledge of established policy and the present nature of the market.
  • Work with regional offices on corporate conversions.
  • Revisit the product and understand the market dynamics and accordingly realign marketing strategies.
  • Ensuring increase of various commodity groups turnover
  • Ensuring timely identification of lead physical & futures players in each commodity.
  • Providing all relevant information and clarification to the brokers on a commodity or a group of commodities
  • Assisting in popularization of new contracts with adding features in the contract
  • Representing company in key events / Seminars / conference related to the commodities market
  • Reviewing the performance of the Product Specialist team in terms of increase in volumes of commodities, quality of research, adherence to timelines, member interface etc.
  • Reviewing the performance of the key physical and futures market participants in terms of new members enrolled, volumes generated from members, number of terminals etc
  • Monitoring performance with targets and competition under different parameters
  • Ensure monitoring prices, demand & supply factors, global news to stay abreast of markets & latest developments
  • Ensuring the smooth coordination with other department heads for lead generation, resolution of member queries/grievances, introduction of best practices for better client servicing etc.
  • Delivery enhancements
  • MOU's with physical market participants
  • Coordination with National Brokers research teams.
  • Seminars/event with industry bodies/farmers/FPOs, etc.
  • Interaction with regulators

The Successful Applicant

A successful Manager - Agri should have:

  • Educational background in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, especially in brokerage or commodity trading.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural commodities and related market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans effectively.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations in the financial services sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
