About Our Client

Our client is a leading Indian organization with a strong national presence and ambitious growth plans. As the business continues to expand and diversify, they are looking to appoint a Legal Lead to partner with business leadership and drive a broad legal and compliance agenda. This will be an individual contributor role supporting a new business vertical.

Job Description

  • Acting as a trusted legal advisor to senior business stakeholders.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and corporate contracts.
  • Advising on legal, regulatory, compliance, and governance matters.
  • Establishing and strengthening legal and compliance frameworks from the ground up.
  • Supporting new business initiatives, growth projects, and strategic business objectives.
  • Supporting corporate transactions, structuring, due diligence exercises, and strategic initiatives where required.
  • Managing external counsel and driving legal matters through to resolution.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver practical and business-oriented legal solutions.
  • Travelling for business requirements, as and when required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 10-15 years of post-qualification experience.
  • An additional CS qualification would be desirable.
  • Candidates from highly regulated sectors such as education, telecom, construction/real estate, or Alcobev preferred.
  • Experience either within a leading law firm or an in-house legal function.
  • Strong expertise across corporate legal, commercial contracts, compliance, and governance.
  • Exposure to M&A, due diligence, and corporate transactions will be preferred.
  • Experience establishing legal and compliance processes, frameworks, or supporting new business initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
  • Ability to independently manage and drive legal matters end-to-end.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
