The Legal Counsel India will provide expert legal advice and support to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in the retail and automotive retail industries. This role requires a proactive approach to managing legal risks and facilitating business operations effectively.

Job Description

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial contracts including service agreements, procurement contracts, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, partnership agreements, and other complex commercial arrangements.
  • Support acquisitions, restructurings, and strategic investments through legal due diligence, transaction risk assessment, and negotiation of key deal documents.
  • Advise on new business opportunities, market expansion, and strategic projects through legal feasibility assessments, regulatory analysis, and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings, working closely with external counsel to mitigate risk and drive commercially favorable outcomes.
  • Establish contract standards, templates, and review processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and legal risk management across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business, finance, compliance, and leadership teams to deliver commercially pragmatic legal solutions that support organizational growth.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in law from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to legal challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
