This role is to head the R&D for Special Polymers for a leading advanced speciality chemical manufacturing organisation. The person will be responsible to develop the team for Polymer R&D.
  • Only candidates with 15+ yrs exp. and Phd in Polymer /Material Science apply
  • Only candidates with exp. of synthesis of high grade polymers apply

Our client is a leading speciality chemical player in Hyderabad and has plans to grow organically and inorganically. They want to launch and strengthen the Polymer science function and then serve global customers.

Job Description

Reporting into the CSO, you will be responsible to:

  • Develop and optimise polymer-based products
  • Conduct research and experiments to enhance polymer sysnthesis and oversee characterization and performance testing using advanced techniques (GPC, SFC, NMR, DSC, TGA, FTIR, rheology).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of R&D efforts with company goals.
  • Analyse data and document findings to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product scale-up.
  • Identify and evaluate new materials and technologies in the field of polymers.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate should have:

  • PhD in Polymer Science/Technology (IIT or equivalent).
  • Experience in high-grade polymers, not commodity polymers.
  • Familiarity with oligomers, end-capping, and advanced polymer modification.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation (GPC, SFC, NMR, DSC, TGA, FTIR).
