Job Description

Reporting to the Factory Head, this role will lead end-to-end product development, testing, compliance, and successful transition from concept to commercialisation.

Hardware & Firmware Development



  • Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of BLDC motor controllers, including both hardware (PCBA, power electronics, gate drivers) and firmware development.


  • Develop and optimize sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC) and trapezoidal control algorithms for smooth, silent, and highly efficient motor operation.


  • Oversee the selection and qualification of microcontrollers, MOSFETs, and other critical electronic components to balance cost, performance, and supply chain resilience.



Product Innovation & Smart Integration



  • Drive the integration of smart control interfaces, including Wi-Fi/Bluetooth IoT modules for mobile application connectivity.


  • Design driver architectures that support advanced consumer features, such as seamless multi-speed control, reverse rotation modes, and integrated LED color-tuning synchronization.


  • Innovate solutions to reduce acoustic noise, mitigate thermal issues, and maximize energy efficiency to exceed standard regulatory ratings (e.g., BEE star ratings).



Testing, Compliance & Production



  • Ensure all driver designs comply with global and regional safety, quality, and EMI/EMC standards.


  • Establish rigorous testing protocols, including thermal cycling, voltage fluctuation tolerance, and long-term reliability testing.


  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to transition prototypes smoothly into mass production, minimizing defect rates and production bottlenecks.



The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate will be an Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineer or Mechanical Engineer (Relevant industry) and will have:



  • 8-15 years of R&D experience in consumer electrical, appliances, or high-volume manufacturing environments which focus on technology innovation


  • Strong product development experience, driving innovation, performance optimisation, cost reduction, and feature enhancement in technology-led products.


  • Proven ability to lead products from concept to commercialisation, collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and cross-functional stakeholders.
