Job Description

  • Lead the India procurement organization, overseeing operational purchasing for direct and indirect materials across manufacturing operations.
  • Assess the existing procurement structure, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and drive organizational effectiveness and accountability.
  • Strengthen coordination between local procurement teams and global strategic purchasing, ensuring alignment with global sourcing strategies and governance.
  • Drive supplier development, qualification and performance management, improving supplier quality, delivery adherence and supply reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to develop Indian suppliers for both domestic and global requirements, supporting diversification of the global supplier base.
  • Improve procurement processes, standardization and governance while driving cost optimization and procurement efficiency.
  • Lead procurement digitalization initiatives, improve SAP utilization and identify opportunities for process automation.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the procurement team, driving performance management, capability development and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree, with 15-24 years of experience in procurement within industrial manufacturing, including significant people leadership experience. Candidates should have managed operational purchasing and worked closely with strategic sourcing teams, with exposure to direct and indirect procurement, supplier negotiations, supplier development and procurement process standardization. Experience working in a global manufacturing environment, particularly with European MNCs and international procurement teams, will be advantageous. Strong knowledge of SAP, particularly MM/PP modules, Lean methodologies, procurement digitalization and supplier performance management is expected. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead established teams, drive organizational change and align local procurement operations with global business objectives.
