About Our Client

Our client is one of India's largest Cold Storage and Controlled Atmosphere facility operators. They have a fully integrated cold chain from farm to retail with Pan-India marketing and distribution network.

Job Description

  • Evaluate the operational and commercial viability of overseas subsidiaries. Subsidiaries exist in more than 6 countries.
  • Support and execute country-wise operational strategies and business plans under the guidance of senior management.
  • Oversee procurement operations with a strong focus on farmer-level sourcing and supply chain integration.
  • Build and maintain strong farmer networks and sourcing relationships to ensure consistent and reliable supply.
  • Supervise procurement, grading, packing, cold storage, and shipment operations across locations.
  • Monitor and control operational costs including freight, logistics, packing material, and storage expenses.
  • Implement measures to reduce wastage and improve efficiency across procurement, packing, storage, and shipment processes.
  • Coordinate with international teams, partners, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Support commercial negotiations and execution of procurement and supply agreements.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and ensure alignment with company objectives and international market requirements.
  • Drive digitization and technology adoption in procurement and operational processes.
  • Implement systems for improved transparency, monitoring, and reporting across global operations.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelors/Masters in agriculture or agronomy (Mandatory)
  • 15+ years of experience in procurement of agri-commodities
  • Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain operations.
  • Experience in managing large-scale operational teams.
  • Ability to implement and oversee process improvements.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology and software for supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
