The job entails leading an integrated steel plant with 600 people and plant functions including HR, Safety, Compliance, and Quality. Eventually the role will also lead the newly acquired plants and will manage 5L TPA outputs
  • 15+ yrs of experience in TMT Steel Manufacturing operations
  • Experience in Scrap-Based Raw Materials and Induction Furnaces

Our Client is a 30+ year old business and is now a leading manufacturer of TMT Steel in India with an integrated plant They are ISO certified and have high quality standards through certification processes.

Job Description

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be:

  • Leading end-to-end plant operations including melting, casting, and rolling processes
  • Driving production performance across induction furnaces, CCM, and rolling mills
  • Managing scrap procurement, vendor ecosystems, and raw material quality control
  • Overseeing utilities, maintenance, and plant uptime to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Deploying cost optimization initiatives and driving improvements in yield and productivity
  • Monitoring financial performance through KPIs such as scrap yield, cost ratios, and plant profitability
  • Leading and mentoring cross-functional teams while fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture
  • Driving continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Managing stakeholder communication, audits, MIS reporting, and contractor partnerships

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
  • 15-20 years of experience in steel manufacturing, with exposure to scrap-based operations
  • Strong expertise in induction furnaces, continuous casting, and rolling mills
  • Proven experience in scrap recycling, procurement, and process optimization
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and production management systems
  • Ability to drive safety, compliance, and zero-incident workplace initiatives
