The organization is looking for a senior logistics leader to transform its international supply chain, with ownership extending beyond dispatch to end-to-end delivery at the customer's location.Job DescriptionReporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, you will:Lead end-to-end international logistics across inbound and outbound movements, from origin through final delivery to customers.Own international logistics performance with a strong focus on the European market and overseas customer deliveries.Personally lead direct ocean freight negotiations with shipping lines, vessel operators, tank operators, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.Manage international movement of liquid bulk chemicals, including appropriate shipping, tank/container, port, and handling solutions.Drive freight benchmarking, rate negotiations, contracting, and cost optimization across key international trade lanes.Move the logistics function from a traditional dispatch orientation towards customer-delivery and service-level ownership.Lead inbound logistics for imports as well as outbound export logistics and overseas distribution.Drive transformation of international logistics processes through standardization, digitization, analytics, and stronger governance.Establish data-driven KPIs and dashboards covering freight costs, OTIF, lead times, service performance, exceptions, and logistics productivity.Use logistics data and analytics to identify trends, bottlenecks, cost-saving opportunities, and performance gaps.Drive operational excellence with the agility to resolve shipment disruptions, port issues, customer escalations, and supply chain constraints.Manage and improve performance of international LSPs through structured reviews and corrective actions.Ensure compliance with Customs, EXIM regulations, international trade requirements, FTAs, and preferential trade agreements.Optimize overseas stock-and-sale operations and distribution into international markets.Leverage SAP and associated logistics/EXIM systems to improve planning, visibility, controls, and decision-making.Partner with Sales, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and overseas stakeholders to deliver a seamless customer experience.The Successful ApplicantBrings 18+ years of experience in international logistics, preferably within chemicals, specialty chemicals, liquid bulk, or related process industries.Must have hands-on experience in direct ocean freight negotiations with shipping lines, vessel operators, tank operators, and/or logistics service providers.Has strong exposure to liquid bulk international logistics and associated shipping and handling requirements.Demonstrates end-to-end logistics ownership covering both inbound and outbound supply chains, rather than dispatch operations alone.Has experience managing logistics through to final customer delivery, including overseas distribution and service performance.Brings meaningful exposure to the European logistics and customer ecosystem.Is highly data-oriented and capable of using analytics to drive freight, service, and operational decisions.Has demonstrated experience leading logistics transformation and operational excellence initiatives.Is agile and hands-on in managing operational challenges and complex international supply chain situations.Has strong working knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP S/4, along with EXIM/logistics systems.Strong understanding of Customs, EXIM, international trade regulations, HS classification, FTAs, and export/import procedures.Demonstrates strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, stakeholder management, and customer orientation.What's on OfferStrategic ownership of a complex international logistics network within a global specialty chemicals business.Opportunity to transform the function from dispatch management to end-to-end customer delivery ownership.Significant responsibility for ocean freight strategy, European logistics, liquid bulk movements, and logistics digitization.High-visibility role working closely with senior leadership and international stakeholders.Quote job refJN-082026-7090468Job summaryFunctionProcurement & Supply ChainSub SectorLogisticsWhat is your area of specialisation?Industrial / ManufacturingLocationNavi MumbaiJob TypePermanentJob ReferenceJN-082026-7090468
