Job Description

The Head of Indirect Procurement Operations will be responsible for defining and executing the global vision for indirect procurement operations while ensuring seamless delivery across a complex and evolving stakeholder landscape.Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute the long-term operating strategy for global indirect procurement delivery.
  • Lead and inspire large, globally distributed teams of procurement professionals and senior managers.
  • Drive operational excellence through robust governance, KPI ownership, and continuous process improvement.
  • Deliver cross-category operational consistency and harmonized procurement processes across regions.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives, including AI, automation, and self-service procurement solutions.
  • Optimize procure-to-pay processes and maximize technology adoption to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for critical operational, supplier, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Drive enterprise-wide cost optimization, value creation, and supplier performance initiatives.
  • Ensure strong governance, contract oversight, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to translate procurement insights into strategic business outcomes.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 15+ years of progressive procurement experience across strategic and operational procurement environments.
  • Deep expertise within the end-to-end procurement value chain, ideally with significant exposure to indirect spend categories.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, globally distributed teams within complex matrix organizations.
  • Strong experience driving procurement transformation, operating model redesign, and large-scale change programs.
  • Proven ability to build credibility and influence senior executives across multiple business functions.
  • Track record of delivering operational excellence, cost savings, and sustainable business value.
  • Strong understanding of procurement technologies, digital procurement solutions, automation, and AI-enabled delivery models.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and change management capabilities.
  • Strategic, collaborative, and enterprise-minded approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Degree qualified, preferably in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
