This role leads the digital manufacturing strategy for a large multi-plant manufacturing business, driving Industry 4.0 initiatives spanning MES, IIoT, AI-driven quality, predictive maintenance, robotics, and smart factory transformation. The position partners closely with business and plant leaders to deliver measurable operational improvements, build digital capabilities, and create a roadmap toward autonomous manufacturing backed by strong ROI.

Job Description

  • Lead the Industry 4.0 roadmap from connected to autonomous manufacturing.
  • Drive MES, PLM, IIoT, and ERP integration across plant operations.
  • Deploy AI and computer vision solutions for quality and traceability.
  • Implement predictive maintenance programs to improve asset reliability.
  • Champion robotics and automation initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Define and govern the digital strategy, roadmap, and investment portfolio.
  • Enable end-to-end supply chain digitization and real-time operational visibility.
  • Build digital capabilities and drive data-led decision-making across plants.

The Successful Applicant

  • ~15 years of experience in digital transformation within manufacturing environments.
  • Proven in-house manufacturing leadership; consulting-only backgrounds NOT preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise in Industry 4.0, MES, PLM, and IIoT deployments.
  • Experience delivering AI, Computer Vision, or Robotics solutions on the shop floor.
  • Strong background in predictive maintenance, quality systems, and traceability.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP, supply chain systems, RFID, and logistics platforms.
  • Understanding of cloud, edge computing, plant networks, and OT cybersecurity.
  • Track record of building ROI-driven digital business cases and influencing senior stakeholders.



Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Engineering or Computer Science (mandatory).
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification in Operations or Manufacturing preferred.
  • Prior experience in automotive components or OEM manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to smart factory, lights-out manufacturing, and autonomous operations.
  • Experience collaborating with global/JV technology partners preferred.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP quality frameworks.
