Job Description

  • Perform power profiling across various operating modes including sleep, active, workout, and charging states.
  • Analyse electrical signals, voltage rails, timing behaviour, and power sequencing using oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
  • Validate circuit-level performance across MCUs, MOSFETs, BJTs, diodes, op-amps, ASICs, and sensor subsystems.
  • Verify communication integrity for interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
  • Characterise sensors for accuracy, noise, drift, and performance under different operating conditions.
  • Support firmware bring-up activities including boot sequence validation, peripheral initialisation, and low-power mode testing.
  • Execute end-to-end functional validation of displays, touch interfaces, haptics, wireless connectivity, sensors, and charging systems.
  • Develop Python scripts for test automation, log analysis, reporting, and data visualisation while maintaining structured test documentation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Hardware Validation Engineer should have:

  • Typically 6+ years of experience in hardware validation, electronics testing, embedded systems, product verification, or related domains.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, protocol analysers, power supplies, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components including MOSFETs, BJTs, diodes, op-amps, ASICs, sensor ICs, and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation, data processing, log parsing, and visualisation.
  • Knowledge of environmental and reliability testing including thermal cycling, climate chambers, ESD, shock, vibration, and IP validation.
  • Ability to read datasheets, define validation criteria, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Experience with sensor calibration, manufacturing test processes, and factory test sequence development.
  • Exposure to wearable devices, consumer electronics, or embedded product development environments.
