Job Description

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities across product lines and principals
  • Develop and execute robust sales strategies aligned to organizational goals
  • Lead and manage a techno-commercial sales team to achieve performance targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic customers
  • Deliver on sales revenue and receivables targets as per annual plans
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging business opportunities
  • Define and enhance product value propositions and differentiators
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver innovative and customer-driven solutions
  • Manage clients across industries such as adhesives, printing inks, paper chemicals, and construction
  • Conduct key account gap analysis and develop growth strategies
  • Identify new products and applications to expand market presence
  • Oversee and guide the Application Lab team for technical alignment
  • Travel extensively across India (minimum 10 days/month) for customer engagement

The Successful Applicant

A successful GM Specialty Chemicals should have:

  • B.Tech (Chemical) or B.Sc (Chemistry) with MBA in Sales & Marketing
  • 20-25 years of experience in specialty chemicals sales/business development
  • Strong expertise in CASE industry (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers)
  • Experience handling products such as: Defoamers, wetting & dispersing agents, preservatives, Emulsion polymers, oligomers, photo-initiators, Silanes, surface modifiers, and other specialty chemicals
  • Proven leadership experience managing mid-sized sales teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and key account handling capability
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office tools
  • Ability to work across regions and manage diverse customer segments
  • Growth mindset with strong mentoring and coaching abilities
