The role will work closely with the global procurement leadership team and offers a defined pathway toward broader procurement leadership responsibility.

Our client is a leading specialty chemicals organization serving the leather industry, with manufacturing operations across India and a strong portfolio of finishing chemicals, dyes and related solutions. With a pan-India presence and global procurement exposure across India, Europe, China and Brazil, the organization is strengthening its strategic procurement function to support long-term business growth.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging materials across key procurement categories.
  • Build and strengthen the global supplier pipeline, identifying new sources and opportunities for cost optimization and supply security.
  • Lead category and segment management initiatives using market intelligence, supplier benchmarking and cost analysis.
  • Partner with the global procurement function across India, China, Italy and Brazil to identify global sourcing opportunities and standardize procurement practices.
  • Drive procurement process improvement, supplier development and strategic initiatives without direct ownership of transactional purchasing activities.
  • Work closely with business and global procurement leadership to establish a scalable strategic procurement framework and prepare for broader procurement leadership responsibility.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will hold an MBA, preferably combined with a B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related technical discipline, and bring strong strategic procurement experience within the chemical / specialty chemicals industry. The candidate should have a strong understanding of chemical raw materials and packaging procurement, supplier development, category management, sourcing strategy and cost optimization, along with the ability to work across international procurement teams. Candidates with a combination of strong technical understanding and commercial/business education will be preferred.
