Job Description

  • Lead and build the finance function, creating scalable processes and systems for future growth.
  • Own financial reporting, monthly MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Drive working capital optimisation, receivables management, and collections performance.
  • Develop and implement strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and compliance processes.
  • Partner with business and operations teams to analyse unit economics, margins, and profitability metrics.
  • Manage cash flow planning, treasury operations, and liquidity requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, investor reporting, board presentations, and strategic decision-making while building and mentoring a high-performing finance team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: Approximately 10-18 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; other relevant finance qualifications will be considered.
  • Core Expertise: Financial reporting, controllership, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, MIS, cash flow management, and treasury.
  • Collections Expertise: Proven experience managing receivables, collections, and working capital cycles.
  • Industry Background: Exposure to startup environments, high-growth businesses, fintech, healthcare, technology, or similar sectors is preferred.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience working closely with founders, leadership teams, investors, auditors, and external advisors.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead finance teams from the ground up.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in advanced Excel, financial modelling, ERP/accounting systems, MIS reporting tools, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Key Traits: Strategic thinker, commercially astute, analytical, hands-on, and capable of operating in a fast-paced scaling environment.
