As a Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend systems with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.This role is to architect and scale a data-intensive backend and AI platform from the ground up, owning systems design, infrastructure, and team development. You will lead a high-performing engineering and AI team while shaping product direction and building production-grade, scalable systems in a fast-paced startup.

Job Description

  • Own end-to-end development and scaling of backend + data/AI platform
  • Architect scalable, distributed systems and define platform infrastructure
  • Build and scale data pipelines, model-serving, and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Lead and grow a team
  • Drive engineering best practices, system reliability, and performance
  • Partner with founders on roadmap, technical strategy, and execution

The Successful Applicant

A successful Backend Engineer should have:

  • Proven track record of building and scaling platforms or data-intensive systems
  • Hands-on expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, and scalable APIs
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
  • Exposure to AI/ML systems, data platforms, or agentic architectures (strong plus)
  • Comes with a builder mindset, high ownership, and thrives in ambiguity
  • Background in data-first or high-scale tech companies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks-type environments) is highly preferred
