Job Description

  • Enhance and modernize an existing Eclipse-based IDE ecosystem by developing new features and improving developer productivity.
  • Participate in the migration of legacy Eclipse tooling to a VS Code and Language Server Protocol (LSP) based architecture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain IDE plugins, extensions, APIs, and developer tools.
  • Build scalable and high-performance backend services using Java and related technologies.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and ensure software quality through unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement modern software engineering practices, frameworks, and tooling.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled developer experiences and next-generation development platform initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize application performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions while mentoring team members where applicable.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Strong experience in Java-based software development and enterprise application design.
  • Hands-on expertise with Eclipse RCP, Eclipse Plugin Development, or IDE customization.
  • Experience working with VS Code extensions and modern developer tooling.
  • Good understanding of the Language Server Protocol (LSP) and IDE architecture.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, backend services, and software integration.
  • Exposure to cloud-native technologies, AI-assisted development tools, or modern development frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Passion for building high-quality developer productivity platforms and tools.
