Job Description

Our Client is hiring a "Director" to lead the decommissioning and modernization of legacy applications within settlements and trade lifecycle domains. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in service-oriented and componentized architectures, API strategy, integration design, Java-based enterprise applications, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, and Camunda. You will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions aligned with business objectives, driving cloud adoption, supporting governance and compliance requirements, and ensuring optimal performance, risk management, and cost efficiency. Experience in financial services, distributed systems, DevOps/CI-CD practices, and large-scale mission-critical environments is highly preferred.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director should have:

  • A strong academic background in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of securities technology within the financial services and investment banking industries.
  • Strong architectural design expertise with a proven ability to define API strategies, establish integration frameworks, and align technology solutions with broader business objectives.
  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering Java-based enterprise applications, with a focus on scalable architectures, modular design principles, and performance optimization.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns, leveraging Apache Kafka for high-throughput messaging, real-time data streaming, and distributed system integration.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes-based container orchestration, driving scalable, resilient, and secure application deployments across complex enterprise environments.
  • Practical expertise in workflow automation and Business Process Management (BPM) platforms such as Camunda, enabling seamless process orchestration and integration within distributed microservices ecosystems.
