Job Description

The Director of Engineering will lead a team of approximately 20 engineers across product engineering, platform, infrastructure, reliability, and frontend development. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will take day-to-day ownership of how engineering plans, builds, ships, and operates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own end-to-end engineering execution across product and platform teams.
  • Drive architecture, design reviews, code quality, testing, and operational excellence.
  • Improve platform reliability, observability, incident response, and release quality.
  • Build scalable deployment capabilities across cloud and enterprise environments.
  • Establish planning, release, and on-call processes that improve delivery without slowing teams down.
  • Partner closely with Product and AI/ML leadership to deliver reliable, production-grade software.
  • Hire, coach, and develop engineering leaders while shaping the future organisation structure.

The Successful Applicant

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years leading engineering managers or multiple teams.
  • Experience running engineering for a high-growth B2B SaaS company operating at production scale.
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, model serving, or evaluation platforms.
  • Strong architectural understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and large-scale backend platforms.
  • Proven success improving engineering quality, reliability, testing, observability, and operational maturity.
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering leaders and senior engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong ownership, and the ability to make decisions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to dive into architecture reviews and production issues when required.
  • Willingness to work from Bengaluru in a highly collaborative, co-located environment.
