Job Description

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence across procurement, planning, inventory, warehousing, and logistics functions.
  • Build scalable supply chain processes to support domestic and international business expansion.
  • Establish governance, KPIs, and performance management frameworks across the supply chain organization.



Vendor Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Create strategic sourcing plans to ensure availability of critical materials at optimal cost.
  • Lead supplier evaluation, selection, development, and performance management programs.
  • Drive cost optimization, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier quality, delivery performance, and compliance standards.
  • Build alternate vendor ecosystems to reduce supply chain risks.



Material Planning & Inventory Management

  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand-supply alignment processes.
  • Ensure accurate material requirement planning (MRP) and production planning.
  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining targeted service levels.
  • Improve forecast accuracy and inventory turns across product categories.
  • Prevent material shortages and excess inventory through proactive planning.



Stores & Warehouse Management

  • Oversee stores operations across manufacturing locations and warehouses.
  • Ensure efficient receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical verification programs.
  • Implement best practices for warehouse utilization, material handling, and inventory controls.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and audit requirements.



4M Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead data-driven decision-making using the 4M Framework (Man, Machine, Material, Method).



Man

  • Analyze workforce productivity, manpower utilization, and performance metrics.
  • Drive capability building and workforce effectiveness initiatives.



Machine

  • Monitor equipment availability, downtime, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve asset utilization.



Material

  • Analyze inventory health, material flow, stock aging, and procurement efficiency.
  • Assess supplier performance and material quality trends.



Method

  • Evaluate process efficiency, compliance, standardization, and productivity metrics.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain functions.



Analytics, Technology & Digitization

  • Leverage ERP, BI tools, and advanced analytics to improve supply chain visibility.
  • Develop dashboards for planning, procurement, inventory, and vendor performance management.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
  • Utilize predictive analytics for demand forecasting and inventory optimization.



Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to suppliers, materials, inventory, and logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Establish business continuity and contingency planning mechanisms.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mandatory. Masters in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field will be an advantage.
  • Certifications such as APICS (CPIM/CSCP), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • 20-25 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Planning, and Operations.
  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing organizations, preferably in Automotive Components, Consumer Durables, Solar Manufacturing, or Allied industries.
  • Experience managing large-scale procurement budgets and complex supplier ecosystems.
  • Strong exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and analytics platforms.
