Our client is a fast-scaling Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) organisation with a strong presence across high-growth sectors including Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Consumer Durables,Industrials and Telecom. As part of its strategic expansion and localisation roadmap, the company is looking to onboard a seasoned procurement leader to strengthen global sourcing capabilities, particularly across semiconductor and electronics ecosystems in Asia

Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO/Managing Director, the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will be responsible for driving the organisation's global procurement and supply chain strategy, with a strong focus on electronics and semiconductor sourcing and strategic partnerships in China and Taiwan.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a forward-looking procurement strategy aligned with business expansion, localisation, and cost competitiveness goals
  • Lead sourcing of critical electronics components including semiconductors, PCBs, passive components, and sub-assemblies
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across China, Taiwan, and broader APAC markets
  • Drive JV partnerships, alliances, and supplier collaborations to enable technology access, cost advantage, and supply security
  • Lead commercial negotiations, long-term contracting, and vendor consolidation strategies
  • Mitigate supply chain risks including geopolitical dependencies, lead-time challenges, and component shortages
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure seamless supply continuity and innovation
  • Drive working capital optimisation through improved procurement planning and inventory strategies
  • Champion digitisation and analytics-driven procurement transformation
  • Build and lead a high-performing procurement and supply chain organisation



The Successful Applicant

  • Engineering degree is mandatory; MBA or post-graduate qualification preferred
  • 20+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply chain within EMS, electronics, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Deep expertise in sourcing electronics components and managing global supplier ecosystems
  • Strong, demonstrated exposure to China and Taiwan supplier markets, including on-ground engagement or sourcing leadership
  • Proven track record in JV structuring, strategic alliances, or cross-border partnerships within electronics/semiconductor ecosystems
  • Strong commercial acumen with expertise in negotiations, cost optimisation, and contract management
  • Experience managing procurement in a high-growth, transformation-driven environment
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking capabilities
