Job Description

  • Own and drive the complete category strategy for fashion - including assortment planning, pricing, merchandising, and consumer experience.
  • Lead P&L management, revenue growth, margin optimization, and operational efficiencies across the category.
  • Build and scale vendor networks, sourcing partnerships, and private‑label initiatives tailored to quick‑commerce speed and fashion trends.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive intelligence to develop a dynamic and relevant product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, operations, growth, product, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of launches and category campaigns.
  • Drive demand forecasting, sell‑through analysis, and inventory planning to ensure optimal stock health and minimal wastage.
  • Mentor and lead a category team of buyers, planners, and analysts; foster a culture of agility, creativity, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Partner closely with the founders and leadership team to scale new fashion verticals and explore new category opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful AVP/VP - Category Management should have:

  • 8-14 years of experience in fashion category management, merchandising, or buying (experience in fast fashion or Q‑commerce is a plus).
  • Strong business acumen with proven P&L ownership and ability to deliver high‑growth outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of fashion trends, customer preferences, and fast‑moving assortments.
  • Demonstrated strength in vendor development, sourcing, and negotiation.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality, especially in a rapid‑turnaround category.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills; comfortable partnering with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing mid‑sized teams.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort using data tools and insights for decision‑making.
