Job Description

  • Work as an embedded engineer with business-unit teams to co-create digital and AI-powered solutions.
  • Act as the technical representative of a central platform team while engaging directly with business and product stakeholders.
  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade software systems including APIs, data pipelines, microservices, and AI/ML models.
  • Customize and extend central platforms and internal toolkits to ensure scalability and usability for local teams.
  • Frame ambiguous business problems, develop hypotheses, and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
  • Lead working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders across operations, supply chain, finance, and retail.
  • Contribute ideas for reusable accelerators and engineering best practices to support wider adoption.
  • Balance hands-on development with solution design, stakeholder communication, and delivery ownership.

The Successful Applicant

A successful FDE AI Engineer should have:

  • Proven experience in full-stack engineering, data engineering, or machine learning systems.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one general-purpose language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience deploying real-world systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, or ML platforms.
  • Ability to think from first principles and simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience taking AI or data-driven systems from development into production environments.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces with evolving requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work closely with business users and spend time understanding domain-specific challenges.
