Job Description

You shall be responsible for:Strategic Procurement & Global Sourcing

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials, driving cost optimisation, quality, delivery and supplier competitiveness.
  • Lead sourcing and procurement of electrical and electronic components, sheet metal parts, batteries, raw materials and other automotive components.
  • Drive China sourcing through supplier identification, qualification, negotiations and development of a competitive supplier base, ensuring quality, compliance and supply continuity.
  • Build and manage a global supplier ecosystem across China, Southeast Asia, India and other relevant sourcing markets.
  • Lead high-value commercial negotiations, framework agreements, long-term contracts, price benchmarking and total cost of ownership optimisation.
  • Deliver measurable material-cost reductions through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, localisation, alternate sourcing and value engineering.
  • Establish supplier performance management processes covering cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness and risk.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Finance on new product introductions, component development and design-to-cost initiatives.



Supply Planning & Inventory Management

  • Lead demand and supply planning, material requirements planning (MRP) and procurement planning in alignment with production schedules.
  • Ensure timely material availability while optimising inventory, working capital, safety stocks and obsolete inventory.
  • Improve forecast accuracy, supplier delivery performance and end-to-end supply chain visibility.



Logistics, Imports & Exports

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, international freight, customs clearance, import-export documentation and trade compliance.
  • Optimise freight costs, transit times and logistics networks, particularly for imports from China and other international sourcing markets.
  • Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers and logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and reliable movement of materials.



Warehousing & Distribution

  • Oversee warehousing, material handling, inventory accuracy, storage, dispatch and distribution operations.
  • Implement robust inventory controls, material traceability and systems-led warehouse management.
  • Drive improvements in warehouse productivity, space utilisation and operating costs.



Global Expansion & Supply Chain Transformation

  • Lead supply chain planning for the proposed Southeast Asian manufacturing facility, including supplier development, sourcing strategy, logistics infrastructure and inventory planning.
  • Establish scalable procurement processes, governance frameworks, digital systems and performance dashboards across locations.
  • Develop risk-mitigation strategies covering supplier concentration, commodity-price volatility, geopolitical risks and business continuity.



The Successful Applicant

  • Education: Engineering graduate with an MBA, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Operations.
  • Significant experience in procurement and supply chain leadership within automotive components, automotive OEMs or consumer durables manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing and procurement of electrical and electronic components, sheet metal, batteries and other engineering components.
  • Proven track record in China sourcing, international vendor development and complex commercial negotiations, with demonstrable cost savings and improved sourcing competitiveness.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial, analytical and supplier relationship management skills, with the ability to secure favourable commercial terms.
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality, cost structures, total cost of ownership, inventory management and manufacturing supply chains.
  • Experience managing imports, exports, international logistics and multi-location supply chain operations.
  • Exposure to setting up or scaling supply chain operations at an overseas manufacturing facility would be an advantage.
  • A commercially astute, hands-on leader capable of operating in a promoter-led, growth-oriented organisation and driving measurable business outcomes.
