Job Description

Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will act as a trusted legal advisor and strategic business partner across the organisation:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial and corporate agreements, including service contracts, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, strategic partnerships, and other business arrangements.
  • Providing practical legal advice on day-to-day commercial, corporate, and operational matters.
  • Managing litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters, including coordination with external legal counsel and internal teams.
  • Assessing legal and commercial risks associated with disputes and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Supporting and leading legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, investments, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
  • Conducting legal due diligence exercises and presenting clear risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and reviewing transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, and investment-related contracts.
  • Managing relationships with external law firms and professional advisors to ensure efficient delivery and cost management.
  • Identifying and escalating significant legal and regulatory risks where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of legal policies, governance processes, and documentation standards.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate would be:

  • Qualified lawyer in India from a reputed law school.
  • 7-8+ years of experience with a law firm or majorly in a law firm (General Corporate/deal-based practice only)
  • Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law.
  • Proven experience handling M&A transactions and strategic corporate deals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
