The Head of Procurement (Raw Material) will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of key manufacturing inputs, primarily HR Steel Coils and Zinc, ensuring cost optimisation, quality compliance, and uninterrupted supply. The role requires strong market intelligence, supplier management expertise, contract negotiation capability, and leadership of the procurement function

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end procurement of HR Steel Coils and Zinc.
  • Develop short-term and long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business and production requirements.
  • Build and manage relationships with domestic and international steel manufacturers.
  • Monitor domestic and global steel market trends, pricing movements, and supply-demand dynamics.
  • Negotiate contracts, commercial agreements, pricing structures, and supply arrangements.
  • Work closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Finance, and Sales teams for procurement planning.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement governance, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive supplier development, risk mitigation initiatives, and procurement team leadership.

The Successful Applicant

  • 18+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
  • Extensive experience in raw material procurement, preferably HR Steel Coils, Zinc, steel, metals, or related industrial commodities.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and long-term contract management.
  • Deep understanding of steel and commodity markets.
  • Strong expertise in procurement strategy, commercial negotiations, and vendor management.
  • Ability to analyse market trends, pricing movements, and procurement risks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across manufacturing operations.
  • Proven people leadership and team management capability.
