We are seeking an experienced R&D Head - Home Care to lead innovation, formulation development, commercialisation, regulatory compliance, and capability building across the Dish Care portfolio. The role will play a critical part in accelerating product innovation, improving speed-to-market, and supporting business growth across India and selected international markets
  • Lead the end-to-end R&D function for a fast-growing Home Care portfolio
  • Direct reporting line to the CEO with a mandate to shape innovation strategy

Job Description

  • Define and drive the R&D strategy for Dish Care and Fabric Care categories aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Build a robust innovation pipeline by identifying portfolio gaps, emerging consumer needs, and market opportunities
  • Lead formulation development across dishwashing liquids, powders, bars, detergents, conditioners, and related home care products.
  • Develop and maintain formulation libraries, technical dossiers, and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead scale-up activities from laboratory through pilot and manufacturing stages.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure successful product commercialisation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Utilise AI-enabled tools to support product costing, formulation optimisation, and predictive modelling.

The Successful Applicant

  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Surface Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience within Home Care R&D, particularly across Dish Care and Fabric Care categories.
  • Proven track record in formulation development, innovation, commercialisation, and scale-up.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and product safety standards within FMCG.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex innovation portfolios.
  • Exposure to international markets and global ways of working would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to translate consumer insights into commercially successful products.
  • Strong stakeholder management, leadership, project management, and decision-making capabilities.
