Our client is one of India's leading integrated steel and manufacturing organizations, undertaking large-scale greenfield and brownfield expansion projects. With a significant portfolio of complex capital projects, the organization is strengthening its Project Management Office (PMO) to bring greater transparency, predictability, and governance across project execution.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head - PMO, you will:

  • Lead the Project Controls function for large-scale, complex industrial capital projects.
  • Establish integrated project control frameworks covering planning, scheduling, cost, resources, progress, and performance measurement.
  • Develop and govern robust project baselines and ensure alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Lead implementation and governance of Earned Value Management (EVM) to provide accurate visibility on project performance.
  • Drive schedule development, critical path analysis, resource loading, schedule optimization, and recovery planning.
  • Integrate schedule and cost information to provide reliable forecasting and early identification of project deviations.
  • Monitor schedule and cost variances and recommend corrective actions to project and senior leadership.
  • Establish robust cost-control processes covering budgets, commitments, forecasts, and cost-to-complete.
  • Lead change-control processes and evaluate the schedule and cost impact of project changes.
  • Drive Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and structured risk and opportunity management across major projects.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards providing actionable insights into project health, schedule, cost, risks, and performance.
  • Champion adoption of PMIS, digital project controls, and real-time reporting tools across the project organization.
  • Provide independent project performance assurance and ensure adherence to project controls governance and standards.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, and Project Management teams to resolve performance gaps.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing Project Controls team and drive adoption of global best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; a Master's qualification in Project Management would be an advantage.
  • Brings 15-20 years of progressive Project Controls experience across large-scale EPC, EPCM, or industrial construction programs.
  • Has worked on complex greenfield and/or brownfield heavy-industrial projects, preferably within steel, metals, oil & gas, petrochemicals, or similar process industries.
  • Demonstrates expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, project scheduling, resource planning, and critical path management.
  • Has strong hands-on expertise in EVM, cost control, forecasting, change management, and performance measurement.
  • Has experience establishing integrated cost and schedule baselines for major capital projects.
  • Brings strong exposure to risk analysis, scenario planning, schedule recovery, and project performance improvement.
  • Has experience with PMIS platforms, digital dashboards, and data-driven executive reporting.
  • EVP, PSP, or equivalent project controls certification would be preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical capability, leadership presence, and senior stakeholder management skills.
