With a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing, the business continues to drive excellence across its global supply chain and product portfolio.Job DescriptionSupport the development and commercialization of leather materials for seasonal and carry-over collections.Evaluate leather materials against technical, quality, durability, aesthetic, and manufacturing standards.Conduct detailed assessments of leather properties, including grading, colour consistency, thickness, finish, softness, and performance.Coordinate laboratory testing and validate material compliance with established quality requirements.Develop and maintain leather specifications, colour standards, defect acceptance criteria, and finishing guidelines.Collaborate with Product Development teams to identify suitable leather materials for new product development initiatives.Partner with suppliers and tanneries to resolve technical challenges and improve material performance.Support supplier evaluations, material audits, and continuous improvement programs.Maintain technical documentation, testing records, material libraries, and approval databases.Ensure compliance documentation and technical certifications are accurate and up to date.Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams to investigate material-related concerns and implement corrective actions.Support sustainability initiatives through responsible sourcing and environmentally compliant materials.Participate in cross-functional projects focused on innovation, quality enhancement, and cost optimization.The Successful ApplicantWe're looking for someone who has:Degree or qualification in Leather Technology, Material Science, Footwear Technology, or a related discipline.8 years of experience in leather technology, leather quality, material development, or footwear manufacturing.Strong understanding of leather manufacturing processes, tanning techniques, finishing methods, and grading standards.Experience working with leather suppliers, tanneries, and material development partners.Knowledge of footwear product development and commercialization processes.Experience in laboratory testing, quality validation, and technical material assessments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; exposure to ERP or PLM systems is advantageous.Knowledge of sustainability principles and responsible sourcing practices is preferred.What's on OfferOpportunity to work in a globally renowned consumer products organization.Exposure to international product development, sourcing, and materials teams.A collaborative and innovation-focused work environment.Opportunity to influence material strategy, quality standards, and supplier performance globally.Involvement in sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.Strong career development opportunities within a global supply chain and materials function.Quote job refJN-092026-7095260Job summaryFunctionEngineering & ManufacturingSub SectorGeneral ManagementWhat is your area of specialisation?RetailLocationDelhiJob TypePermanentJob ReferenceJN-092026-7095260
