Job Description

  • Define and execute the R&D roadmap aligned to business growth across India & global.
  • Oversee and manage the research and development team to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end development from lab to pilot to commercialization.
  • Improve yields, reduce cycle times, and optimize raw material consumption.
  • Ensure products meet global regulatory requirements (REACH, environmental norms, hazardous chemical guidelines).
  • Develop and implement innovative R&D strategies to enhance product performance and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of R&D outcomes into production processes.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards during the development process.
  • Monitor and manage R&D budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the R&D team to foster professional growth.
  • Present findings and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of R&D should have:

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Organic Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry preferred
  • 18 - 20+ years in R&D within Specialty Chemicals / Fine Chemicals
  • Proven expertise in leading R&D teams and managing projects in industrial and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative solutions to meet industry demands.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
