About Our Client

We are partnering with a leading, high-growth player in the steel structures / Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) segment to hire a Head of Production for one of their key fabrication facilities in Central India.

Job Description

1. Production & Operations Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across fabrication, assembly, and dispatch.
  • Deliver daily, monthly, and annual production targets aligned with business demand.
  • Drive efficiency across shop floor operations including cutting, welding, drilling, painting, and assembly processes.



2. Production Planning & Control (PPC)

  • Own production planning cycles (daily/weekly/monthly) to meet project timelines.
  • Align closely with procurement, design, and project teams to ensure seamless execution.



3. Manufacturing Excellence & Process Optimization

  • Standardize and continuously improve fabrication processes (CNC cutting, welding, shot blasting, painting, etc.).
  • Drive lean manufacturing, cost optimization, and waste reduction initiatives.



4. Maintenance & Utilities Management

  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance for all plant machinery and fabrication lines.
  • Ensure high uptime across critical equipment (CNC machines, welding lines, painting systems, cranes).
  • Manage plant utilities (power, compressed air, DG, etc.) to support uninterrupted operations.



5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead a cross-functional team across production, maintenance, quality, and planning.

The Successful Applicant

  • 20+ years of experience in Plant Production with a strong Mechanical or Production engineering academic background
  • Mandatory experience in PEB / structural steel / heavy fabrication industry
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale fabrication units/plants
  • Steel fabrication processes: cutting, welding, assembly, painting
  • Production Planning & Control (PPC)
