Our client is an established, publicly listed energy and industrial utilities organization specializing in steam generation and supply solutions for process industries. With a growing network of operational facilities, the organization is seeking an experienced leader to drive multi-plant operational performance, energy efficiency, safety and business expansion.

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end operations across multiple steam generation and utility plants, ensuring operational reliability, efficiency and profitability.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives, capacity expansion and long-term growth plans.
  • Oversee boiler operations, steam generation, fuel management, utilities and equipment reliability across facilities.
  • Drive improvements in boiler efficiency, fuel consumption, steam quality, plant availability and overall energy performance.
  • Establish standardized SOPs, operational KPIs and performance benchmarks across plants.
  • Lead and hold Plant Heads accountable for production, maintenance, safety, cost and operational performance.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance, automation, reliability improvement and reduction of unplanned breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), environmental regulations, CEMS requirements and other statutory approvals.
  • Champion EHS practices, process safety, emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance across all operating locations.
  • Monitor plant-wise operating costs, fuel efficiency, budgets and capital expenditure to drive sustainable profitability.
  • Provide strategic guidance for new plant development, capacity expansion, commissioning and operational stabilization.
  • Ensure uninterrupted and reliable steam supply to industrial customers while maintaining agreed service and quality standards.
  • Establish operational dashboards and present periodic performance reviews, deviations and improvement plans to senior leadership.
  • Build, mentor and develop Plant Heads and senior operations teams, strengthening accountability and succession planning.



The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering; MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Brings 25-30 years of experience in thermal power plants, boiler operations, steam generation, chemicals, cement or allied process industries.
  • Has demonstrated experience leading multi-location plant operations at a senior leadership level.
  • Possesses strong technical expertise in industrial boilers, steam generation systems, fuel optimization, utilities and equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of improving boiler efficiency, plant reliability, energy consumption and operating costs.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of IBR, CEMS, environmental regulations, statutory compliance and industrial safety standards.
  • Brings experience in preventive maintenance, plant automation, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Has exposure to new plant commissioning, capacity expansion and operational stabilization.
  • Demonstrates strong financial and commercial acumen, including plant budgeting, cost control and capital expenditure planning.
  • Is an effective people leader with experience managing multiple Plant Heads and geographically dispersed operations teams.
