About Our Client

A leading global industrial technology MNC with a significant and growing manufacturing presence in India is embarking on an aggressive expansion journey, with plans to substantially scale its manufacturing footprint and double its business over the next three years.

The organisation is seeking a seasoned Head of Manufacturing - India to lead the existing manufacturing network and build the capabilities, systems and organisation required for the next phase of growth. The role will be based in Mumbai and will report to the Country Head

Job Description

  • Own the end-to-end manufacturing strategy and performance across multiple manufacturing facilities in India, with Plant Heads reporting into the role.
  • Lead capacity expansion, new plant set-ups, capex, manufacturing readiness and operational scale-up in line with the growth agenda.
  • Drive Manufacturing Excellence across sites covering Lean, TPM, OEE, productivity, quality, cost, delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the digitisation and Industry 4.0 agenda, including automation, MES, shop-floor analytics and data-driven manufacturing.
  • Drive excellence in Make-to-Order / High-Mix / Engineered-to-Order manufacturing environments involving significant customer-specific requirements and product customisation.
  • Standardise manufacturing processes, systems and governance across locations while ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to customer requirements.
  • Build a strong culture of safety, quality, operational discipline and continuous improvement.
  • Develop the manufacturing leadership team and organisational capabilities required to support rapid expansion.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial and Business leadership to deliver customer commitments, cost competitiveness and profitable growth.

The Successful Applicant

  • Engineering graduate with 25+ years of manufacturing experience, including substantial multi-site leadership.
  • Proven experience managing a ₹3,000-5,000+ crore manufacturing/business portfolio or comparable scale.
  • Strong track record of managing multiple manufacturing plants across India, with Plant Heads as direct reports.
  • Experience in Make-to-Order / High-Mix / Engineered-to-Order manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in manufacturing transformation, operational excellence, digitisation and automation.
  • Experience in scaling manufacturing capacity, establishing new facilities and managing large capex programmes.
  • Strong commercial understanding of manufacturing economics, productivity, cost, quality and delivery.
  • A transformational yet hands-on leader capable of building scale, driving change and creating a world-class manufacturing organisation.
