An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional to drive sourcing strategy for powertrain electronics, ECUs, telematics, displays and advanced control systems within a large engineering and manufacturing organization. The role combines strategic supplier management, localization, cost optimization and new product development support while influencing key business decisions across India and global teams.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies for powertrain electronics, ECUs, displays, telematics and supplier-designed components.
  • Manage annual procurement spend of approximately ₹200 Cr while ensuring cost, quality, technology and delivery objectives are achieved.
  • Lead supplier selection, capability assessment and long-term supplier development initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to support new product development and launch readiness.
  • Drive localization, value engineering and cost reduction programs to improve competitiveness and supply resilience.
  • Build strategic partnerships with suppliers across ECUs, sensors, displays, telematics and electronic control systems.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to capacity, technology, component shortages and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with business and product requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Engineering degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, purchasing or supplier development.
  • Strong expertise in sourcing ECUs, controllers, displays, telematics, sensors and electronic modules.
  • Proven track record of managing complex techno-commercial negotiations and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Experience supporting new product development, APQP processes and supplier technology assessments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive localization, cost optimization and risk management initiatives.
  • Leadership presence, stakeholder management capability and a strategic mindset with strong execution skills.
