A Global MNC (listed Company) is seeking a Global Lease Accounting Head (IFRS 16) to oversee global lease accounting, compliance, reporting, controls, and stakeholder management across multiple geographies. The role offers the opportunity to lead a specialized team, drive process improvements, and shape the future lease accounting operating model and technology landscape.

Our client is a globally recognized Retail multinational organization operating a large network of customer-facing locations across more than 70 countries.

Job Description

  • Own and lead global lease accounting operations and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and internal accounting policies.
  • Manage month-end close activities related to lease accounting.
  • Partner with regional and local finance teams on reporting requirements.
  • Act as the key contact for lease accounting audits and issue resolution.
  • Own lease accounting controls, governance, and data integrity.
  • Drive enhancement and implementation of lease accounting systems and tools.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global accounting team.
  • Deliver technical accounting guidance and stakeholder training.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, process standardization, and data migration projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified CA, CPA, is must for the role
  • 15+ years of experience in Lease Accounting (IFRS 16), financial reporting, or controllership.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS and/or US GAAP lease accounting.
  • Experience with SOX and internal control frameworks.
  • Exposure to ERP and lease accounting platforms is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working with senior stakeholders in a global organization.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and change management skills.
